Exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for dogs has arisen caring for the family pets of a HNW family near near Windsor, Bucks-Berks border.

Full time position for someone with a background in dog care, training and general animal care.

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of dog breeds including routine grooming and maintenance. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be responsible for their own time management to ensure all feeds are prepared, dogs are appropriately exercised, interacted with, trained, socialised as well as organising visits to the groomers & vets.

Duties:

  • Follow strict guidelines to maintain the cleanliness of our dog areas to the highest standards including cleaning and disinfecting animal accommodation, food preparation areas, laundry and all outside areas
  • Carry out daily health checks and report any physical changes to management
  • Handling and exercising all of our dogs
  • Grooming of all dogs according to grooming schedules
  • Manage your time to ensure all dogs receive exercise to agreed time scales.
  • Liaising with the other staff, providing a daily hand-over.
  • Follow instructions - dogs may have specific requirements.
  • Equipment is to be kept clean as possible and all equipment & leads maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintaining high levels of animal welfare and safety.
  • Most importantly love, empathy and care as standard.
  • Full UK driving licence required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be reliable, upbeat and in good shape with an eye for detail.

You are able to take responsibility for your time, ensuring you complete given tasks in a timely manner.

You will be proactive, comfortable handling a range of dogs and have good common sense.

You will be a good communicator and provided regular feedback for management.

You will be happy to take on a range of tasks including poo picking up, cleaning and helping with feeds and meds.

You like working with people as much as dogs and being part of a team.

You are a person who takes initiative to help support senior members of the team.

SKILLS

  • Experience working in a Kennel environment with a range of different breeds.
  • Experience in grooming to a high standard, working with a range of different breeds. A qualification in grooming is desirable.
