We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Doggy Daycare Assistant to join our growing business.

We are proud to hold a 4-Star Licence, demonstrating our commitment to exceptional animal welfare and high operating standards. Our priority is providing every dog with a safe, enriching and enjoyable environment where they can socialise, exercise and receive the highest level of care.

If you're passionate about dogs, thrive in an active outdoor environment and want to build a career in animal care, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for supervising dogs throughout the day, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while encouraging positive social interactions, ensuring the dogs receive enrichment and can think outside of the box to create new fun games.

You'll work closely with a small, supportive team that takes pride in delivering outstanding care and exceptional customer service to both dogs and their owners.

The role is physically demanding and requires someone who enjoys being active, whatever the weather.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervising groups of dogs during indoor and outdoor play sessions.
  • Monitoring canine behaviour and recognising appropriate play, stress signals and potential conflict.
  • Safely introducing new dogs into suitable play groups.
  • Ensuring every dog receives individual attention, enrichment and appropriate rest throughout the day.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and biosecurity throughout the facility.
  • Cleaning play areas, equipment and communal spaces.
  • Feeding dogs where required and ensuring constant access to fresh water.
  • Carrying out daily health and welfare checks, reporting any concerns immediately.
  • Communicating professionally with customers during drop-off and collection.
  • Assisting with daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Following all health and safety procedures, licence conditions and company policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2, 3 qualification or experience in a doggy daycare setting
  • A genuine passion for dog welfare.
  • Excellent understanding of canine behaviour and body language.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional.
  • Confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors throughout the year.
  • Calm and confident under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a dog daycare, kennels, veterinary practice, rescue centre or similar animal care environment.
  • Canine First Aid qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working Hours

Our daycare operates Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 6:30pm.

Working hours will be scheduled within these operating times. You will be starting on a zero hour contract and we would be looking to initially offer 5-10 hours a week, As our business continues to grow, there will be opportunities for additional hours, a fixed contract and career progression.

We close for two weeks over the Christmas period, allowing our team to enjoy a well-earned break with family and friends.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Paid holiday.
  • Company pension.
  • Uniform provided.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Opportunities to grow with an expanding business.
  • The chance to spend every day making a positive difference to dogs' lives.

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to build a career in animal care—not just someone who loves dogs. You'll understand the importance of maintaining the highest welfare standards, keeping detailed observations, working efficiently as part of a team and representing our business professionally.

You'll be dependable, proactive and take pride in creating a safe, happy environment where every dog can thrive.
