About Duncan’s Dog Co
Duncan’s Dog Co was established in 2011, long before the explosion of dog daycare businesses. We were one of the first in the area and we are still here because we have always done things differently.

We operate one single, unique facility. We are not a franchise. We are not corporate. We do not replicate a model across sites. Our daycare is run from our family home, set within woodland, and the environment is central to how we care for dogs. It is calm, considered, and personal.

We were the first five star rated dog daycare in Surrey and we remain one of the most reputable and established names in the industry. We have been there, done it, learnt the hard lessons, and built a business around welfare, structure and people.

Dogs come first. Always.
That applies to how we manage behaviour, how we structure the day, how we transport dogs, and how we communicate with owners. We are transparent, honest, and welfare led, even when it means having difficult conversations.

We do not use sign written vans.
We do not line dogs up in rows of crates.
We do not follow trends for the sake of it.

We use people carriers rather than vans because they are quieter, safer and far more comfortable for the dogs. We design calm systems rather than chaotic ones. We believe doing things differently is the reason we are still here.

We are also welfare driven for our staff. We know that good care starts with a supported, respected team. We are small, established, and experienced enough to offer stability, but flexible and human enough to listen, adapt and grow with our team.

Our people are the reason this place works.

The Role
This role combines dog transport with hands on daycare support and is central to the dogs’ daily experience.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and returning dogs using our people carriers
  • Ensuring dogs travel calmly and comfortably
  • Handling dogs with confidence, care and consistency
  • Supervising dogs within our woodland daycare environment
  • Supporting structured play, rest and enrichment
  • Monitoring behaviour closely and stepping in early when needed
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and well organised environment
  • Communicating openly and honestly with colleagues and dog owners

This is an active, outdoor role. You will be on your feet, in the woodland, working directly with dogs throughout the day.

Who This Role Is For
This role suits someone who genuinely cares about dogs, values structure, and wants to be part of a team rather than just fill a shift.

You should:

  • Enjoy working closely with dogs and respect individual needs
  • Be confident around dogs of all sizes and breeds
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and drive safely and calmly
  • Be reliable, punctual and consistent
  • Work well in a small team where everyone matters
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather

Experience with dogs is helpful but not essential. We care more about attitude, awareness and willingness to learn.

We believe in maximising strengths.
We encourage ambition.
We are open to staff ideas shaping how we work.

Our systems are structured, but our team helps drive change, improvement and innovation. If you care, show initiative and want to grow, you will be supported.

What We Offer

  • Stable full time employment in an established business
  • A unique working environment based in woodland and a family home
  • A team that genuinely loves the dogs in their care
  • Early afternoon finishes
  • 26 days paid holiday per year
  • Overtime opportunities for extra earnings
  • Clear routines, calm systems and realistic expectations
  • A workplace where staff welfare matters as much as dog welfare
  • A vibrant team with experience and energy

This is not a high turnover, conveyor belt daycare.
This is a long standing, welfare driven business where people and dogs are known as individuals.
