Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for animal lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and have a strong sense of responsibility. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs during their walks, providing them with exercise, companionship, and care. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work with a variety of breeds and personalities.
Duties
- Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and stimulation.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
- Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain cleanliness in public spaces.
- Monitor the behaviour and health of dogs, reporting any concerns to the owner or management.
- Provide companionship and positive reinforcement to dogs while walking.
- Follow specific instructions from dog owners regarding walking routes, feeding schedules, or special needs.
- Maintain accurate records of each walk, including duration, distance, and any notable behaviours or incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with dog handling or pet care is preferred but not essential.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with dog owners and provide updates on their pets.
- Ability to manage multiple dogs at once while maintaining control and safety.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of walking various breeds, including larger dogs.
- A valid driver’s licence is advantageous for travelling between clients’ homes if necessary.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate varying client needs.
