Full job description

Burton Lodge Greyhound Kennels are recruiting reliable kennelhands for their Wickford based kennels. Both full time and part time positions are available!

Duties involve cleaning kennels and exercise paddocks, feeding routines, walking, grooming and generally taking great care of our greyhounds. Racing duties may also be required (training will be given).

It is hard, outdoors work in all weathers and does involve heavy lifting.

Experience in kennel or stable work is a mandatory requirement to be considered for the role.

The kennels are not close to public transport, therefore reliable transport is essential as all kennelhands start at 7am - applicants who can drive will be preferred.

All roles must include weekend working. Reliability is essential, as our dogs depend on us!

Wages are paid weekly, in line with national living wage, with an hourly rate of £11.44 per hour - raising to £12.21 in April 2025.
