Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Free Running Explosive Detection Dog (FREDD) Handler. You will be screening large quantities of cargo for the aviation industry.

You will initially be based at our base in Cheshire, moving to on the road as the role develops.

This role involves designing the dog’s training programs, working closely with dogs to develop their detection skills, maintaining their health and well-being, and ensuring their readiness for fieldwork through environmental exposure.

Duties involved

  • Screening aviation cargo at UK hubs.
  • Ensure the health and welfare of dogs is maintained to high standard.
  • Maintain and ensure safe handling of training samples.
  • Complete detailed real time records for the dogs.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and project equipment.

Required

  • Proven experience of handling Detection Dogs to FREDD standards
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • Effectively problem solving skills.
  • Full UK driving license, with no more than 6 points.
  • Full background checks will be conducted in addition to DBS check (for licencing purposes).
  • Physical stamina required.
  • You will need to be able to house a dog at your home address.
