Job Summary
Dog Walker Vacancy - Exeter
I am looking for a dedicated, hardworking, passionate dog walker to join our friendly well-established team. Animals at Home provide exceptional care for all the Dog’s we look after on a day to day basis, making sure they have plenty of exercise and stimulation whilst out walking. All dogs are cleaned after their walks and returned home, happy, clean and content. Owner’s are left knowing their beloved Dog’s have been left in the best hand’s whilst they are at work.
Work pattern would be for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday, usual working day would be between 09:00 am until 15:30, varying occasionally. Full driving license essential, must be over 21 to be insured on the Company van. Fuel card supplied. Will be DBS checked, experience is essential, with full in-house training provided, First Aid for animal’s course and dog walking certificate will be gained. Animals at home pride themselves on having great relationship’s with Dog’s and their owners. Polo shirts and fleece zip up hoodie with Animals at home logo will be provided. Salary is £11.45, holiday pay, sick pay given after three working days.
Responsibilities:
Willing to work in all weather conditions, ensuring both the safety of the Dog’s, and your own at all times.
Good standard of cleanliness and hygiene to be maintained at all times during walks, to include picking up after the Dog’s.
Provide basic obedience training and reinforce good behaviour during all walks.
Provide exercise and stimulation for dogs during walks
Walking regular dogs on a daily/weekly basis, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Look for any sign’s of unhappiness or discomfort in the dogs, and report to both myself and the owner.
Occasional vet visit’s if required by the owner in their absence.
Experience:
Must love Dog’s, and have experience of working with Dog’s.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage with owners, and to be able to address any concerns or questions.
Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments, including those that maybe a little anxious or reactive. Walk up to 6 Dog’s at one time.
Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy lifting where required as some dogs may require assistance or support getting in and out of the van.
This is a self-employed role, up to date amended copies of schedules and invoices to be supplied on a weekly basis.
