Our Grooming Salon in Cardiff is looking for a talented, experienced and enthusiastic, professional dog groomer to join their growing team.

Our customers include dogs of all breeds and sizes. The candidate must have experience working with dogs with different coat types and be able to complete a groom from start to finish. Breed standard grooming will be required and experience with hand stripping would be a benefit.

We aim to give the dogs in our care a stress free grooming experience and provide high quality, well maintained equipment and a positive working environment. Dog grooming is hard work but hugely rewarding and we are building a team environment to help manage our growing customer base.

Working hours will be 8 hour shifts between Monday to Saturday

Responsibilities:
- Groom pets according to client specifications, including bathing, brushing, and styling
- Trim nails, clean ears, and perform other basic grooming tasks
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area

Experience:
- 8 months previous experience, working in a salon as a dog groomer is essential (home grooming does not qualify)

- Ideally a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification or higher
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming needs
- Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment
- Strong animal handling skills and the ability to work with pets of all sizes and temperaments
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners

Skills:
- Animal care: Knowledge of proper handling, grooming techniques, and health considerations for different types of animals
- Customer service: Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners, address their concerns, and provide a positive experience

- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver pets of various sizes and weights
- Veterinary: Familiarity with basic veterinary procedures such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and recognizing signs of illness or injury
