You will be responsible for managing a diverse and demanding client base of 40-50 clients, providing exceptional care to their pets. This role requires a high level of responsibility, organizational skills, emotional resilience and a deep passion for animals. You will be expected to go above and beyond in meeting the unique needs of each dog and their owner, ensuring that every walk is not just a service, but an experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Dog Walking:
- Safely walk up to 6 dogs at once, ensuring their well-being and providing appropriate exercise and stimulation.
- Select safe and engaging walking routes, avoiding hazardous areas.
- Monitor dog behavior, addressing any issues promptly and ensuring peaceful group dynamics.
- Walk multiple miles each day, often in varying weather conditions.
- Transportation:
- Safely transport dogs to and from their homes using the company van, ensuring punctuality and communication of expected arrival times.
- Conduct basic vehicle safety checks and maintain the cleanliness of the van.
- Safety and Well-Being:
- Ensure the safety of all dogs during walks, providing water breaks and monitoring for signs of overheating or overexertion.
- Handle dogs with varying temperaments and sizes, ensuring peaceful group dynamics and managing any behavioral issues.
- Administer basic first aid and medication as required, following safety protocols.
- Communication with Owners:
- Provide regular, real-time feedback to dog owners about their pets’ behavior, including photos and videos during walks.
- Report any injuries, health concerns, or unusual behavior observed during the walk.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and preferences.
- Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate records of walk durations, routes taken, and any incidents.
- Coordinate schedules with clients and other team members, ensuring flexibility to accommodate last-minute changes.
- Manage client keys securely, following all safety protocols related to transporting and securing homes.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct meet-and-greets with new clients and their pets.
- Handle emergency situations involving pets, remaining calm under pressure.
- Participate in ongoing training, including emergency canine first-aid.
- Work across other sectors of the business, home sitting, drop – in visits etc.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in dog handling or a similar role is preferred.
- Experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial.
- Must have professional or personal experience with pets, supported by an outstanding cover letter.
- Skills:
- Physical fitness to handle large dogs and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and consistent updates to clients.
- Problem-solving abilities to manage emergencies and dog behavior.
- High level of emotional intelligence and resilience, with the ability to handle complex and stressful situations.
- Time management skills, particularly in managing a dynamic schedule and client expectations.
- Smartphone – Must have latest smartphone or recent generation smartphone with high quality image capacity, must be able to use our client management app and take photos proficiently.
- Driving Requirements:
- Valid UK manual driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Access to a vehicle is preferred, though a company van will be provided during working hours.
- Other Requirements:
- Must have a clean DBS check.
- Personal public liability insurance is required.
- Flexibility – this role requires utmost flexibility to cater to last minute bookings requests from clients.

Working Hours:
- Standard working hours are typically 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Flexibility is required, with occasional days extending to 5:00 PM or weekend availability based on client bookings.
- We guarantee a minimum of 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours.
