Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomer/Salon Manager to join our Friendly, passionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a love for animals, exceptional grooming skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the salon, ensuring the health and well-being of dogs while delivering high-quality grooming services to our clients. You will manage staff to ensure a clean, tidy, efficient and relaxed environment.

We offer Flexible Full Time hours or 30+ hours a week, or we would consider a job share of 2 half time Groomers. Hours and days can be relatively flexible for day time working.

Duties

  • Perform outstanding grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling of various breeds of dogs.
  • Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention.
  • Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment by regularly sanitising tools and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with dog owners about their pets’ needs and grooming options.
  • Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
  • Manage appointments and scheduling to ensure efficient workflow within the grooming salon.
  • Lift and handle dogs of varying sizes, ensuring their safety during the grooming process.

Requirements

  • A City & Guilds Level 3 Qualification in Dog Grooming or equivalent and minimum of at least 4 years Experience. Or Longer experience if no official Qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of animal care practices and behaviour.
  • Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with clients and their pets.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required while handling animals safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for animal welfare.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
