Full job description

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are very sadly looking for someone full time to join our team. Please be sure to read the whole application throughly, all applicants must send a covering letter along with their CV, detailing their reasons for being suitable for the position. All applicants must have a full, clean driving license that has been held for 5 or more years. Hourly rate will increase once training is completed. The job also has the possibility to progress into a management role.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker and pet sitter to join our team. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing exercise and companionship to dogs in our care. This is a great opportunity for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. It is a challenging but very rewarding job and not for the faint hearted! All applicants must be able to help with pet sitting within their own homes.

Duties:
- Walk dogs on a regular schedule, ensuring they get the exercise they need
- Provide basic obedience training during walks
- Monitor the behavior and health of dogs in your care
- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
- Ensure the safety of dogs at all times, including using appropriate leashes and restraints
- Communicate with dog owners regarding any issues or concerns that arise during walks
- Maintain accurate records of each walk, including time spent, distance covered, and any observations

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a professional capacity
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Skills:
- Heavy lifting: Dog walkers may need to lift larger dogs or carry supplies such as water bottles or waste bags.
- Customer service: Interacting with dog owners requires good customer service skills to address any concerns or questions.
- Animal care: A basic understanding of animal care is necessary to ensure the well-being of the dogs.
- Veterinary knowledge: Familiarity with common health issues or first aid procedures for dogs is beneficial.
