Job Title: Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate
Hours: Full time
Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2027

Key Responsibilities (Essential)
- Complete MeRIT risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis response
- Manage a duty caseload with accurate case recording
- Provide advocacy and support through MARAC, including representing clients
- Work with Police, Social Care, Housing, Health, Probation, and Courts to coordinate safety
- Support clients through criminal and civil justice processes, including court support and special measures
- Ensure clients understand all options (legal, housing, safeguarding) to make informed decisions
- Escalate risk and advocate with partner agencies where barriers arise
Role Purpose
As the first point of contact for high-risk domestic abuse cases, you will provide immediate, trauma-informed risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for victim-survivors at risk of serious harm or homicide. You will coordinate safeguarding responses and advocate for clients across multi-agency systems.
Additional Duties
- Accompany clients to appointments where needed
- Maintain safeguarding compliance and case administration
- Contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements
