Fire Door Installer / Maintainer

Location: Brandon, Suffolk
Salary: From £21.00 per hour (£43,680 per annum)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

Paragon is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced Fire Door Installer / Maintainer to join their growing Fire Protection team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with experience installing and maintaining fire doors to work across a variety of sectors, including social housing, MOD, healthcare and education. Training opportunities are also available for experienced carpenters or door installers looking to specialise in the fire door industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install fire door sets in accordance with manufacturers' installation guidelines.
  • Carry out fire door maintenance and remedial works to ensure compliance.
  • Complete accurate digital records using inspection and compliance software.
  • Diagnose and rectify installation or maintenance issues to meet fire safety standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team across multiple client sites.
  • Cover projects throughout East Anglia, including Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Hertfordshire, with occasional travel outside these areas when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience installing and/or maintaining fire doors (preferred).
  • Experience using digital compliance or inspection software such as PlanRadar, Bolster, CCS Systems or Site Audit Pro (training can be provided).
  • A good understanding of manufacturers' installation details and fire door compliance requirements.
  • A positive, flexible and professional attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • A strong interest in fire safety and a willingness to continue learning and developing.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Own tools.
