Pay: £13.00–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Type: Self-employed subcontractor initially, with the possibility of PAYE employment in the future.

Hours: Approximately 3–5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

Sullivan Home Improvements is a small, established joinery and property improvement business undertaking a variety of residential projects across Glasgow, Stirling and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Joiner's Mate or Semi-Skilled Joiner to assist with ongoing projects.

The work is varied, ranging from kitchen installations and property renovations to first and second fix joinery. This would suit someone with some practical experience in construction or joinery who is confident using tools and willing to develop their skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Assisting with kitchen installations and property renovations.
• First and second fix joinery, including timber framing, plasterboarding, doors, skirtings and facings.
• Assisting with flooring installations.
• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials.
• General building and refurbishment work.
• Keeping work areas organised, tidy and safe.
• Working alongside an experienced joiner to complete projects to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in joinery, construction or general building work.
• Confident using basic hand and power tools.
• Good practical skills and willingness to learn.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a small team.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Professional and respectful when working in customers' homes.
• Driving licence and own transport preferred.
• Own basic hand tools would be an advantage but are not essential.

Formal joinery qualifications are not essential. A good attitude, reliability and practical ability are more important.

Working Arrangements

The position will initially be offered on a self-employed subcontractor basis, with the possibility of moving into permanent PAYE employment for the right person.

We anticipate being able to offer a minimum of 3 days' work per week, with 5 days being the normal expectation when workload allows.

Applicants should ideally be available Monday to Friday, although actual working days will be agreed in advance depending on project requirements.
