Full job description

Saba Installations is a growing bathroom installation company working with established bathroom retailers to deliver complete bathroom installations for customers across Cambridge, Ely and the surrounding villages.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and highly skilled self-employed subcontractor to join us on a regular basis, with the potential for the right person to progress into a full-time position with Saba Installations.

About Saba Installations

Our reputation has been built on more than simply fitting bathrooms.

We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, attention to detail, reliability and professionalism, while making sure our customers have a positive experience from start to finish.

Our customers regularly highlight our:

  • High standard of workmanship
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Clear communication
  • Professional and friendly approach
  • Clean and tidy working
  • Respect for customers' homes
  • Ability to overcome challenges and find solutions
  • Pride in the finished result

We are looking for someone who shares those same standards.

The Role

You will be working on complete bathroom installations, often in customers' homes, taking projects from strip-out through to final completion.

The role can include:

  • Full bathroom strip-outs and refurbishments
  • Plumbing and pipework
  • Installation of baths, showers, toilets and basins
  • Wall and floor tiling
  • Installation of bathroom furniture and vanity units
  • Shower screens and accessories
  • Flooring
  • General preparation and making good
  • Carpentry and joinery
  • Studwork and partitioning
  • Boxing-in and alterations
  • Skirting, architrave and door alterations
  • General finishing work
  • Final snagging and attention to detail

We are particularly interested in someone who is multi-skilled and able to confidently deal with the different aspects of a bathroom installation rather than relying on multiple trades for every stage.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have proven experience as a bathroom fitter
  • Have strong carpentry/joinery skills
  • Be confident working independently
  • Take genuine pride in their workmanship
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Be professional and respectful when working in customers' homes
  • Communicate well with customers and the Saba Installations team
  • Be clean, tidy and considerate while working
  • Be able to identify problems and find practical solutions
  • Have their own tools and reliable transport
  • Be CIS registered
  • Be fully self-employed
  • Hold appropriate public liability insurance
  • Be able to provide the necessary documentation

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who cares about the finished job and the customer experience, not someone who simply wants to get through the job as quickly as possible.

What We Offer

  • Regular subcontract work
  • A steady pipeline of bathroom installation projects
  • Work with established bathroom retailers
  • Projects across Cambridge, Ely and surrounding villages
  • Competitive subcontract rates depending on experience and the scope of each project
  • The opportunity to build a long-term working relationship with Saba Installations
  • A professional and friendly working environment
  • Potential opportunity to progress into a full-time position with Saba Installations for the right person

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to become an important part of a growing business and potentially develop a long-term career with us.

Location

Cambridge, Ely and surrounding villages

The majority of our work will be within the local area, so the successful candidate should ideally be based in or around Cambridge/Ely and comfortable travelling to customers throughout the surrounding villages.

Interested?

If you're an experienced bathroom fitter with strong carpentry skills, take pride in your work and are looking for regular subcontract opportunities with the potential for a full-time position in the future, we'd like to hear from you.

When applying, please include:

  • A brief introduction about yourself
  • Your bathroom fitting experience
  • Your carpentry/joinery experience
  • Confirmation that you are self-employed and CIS registered
  • Your general availability
  • Photos or examples of previous work, particularly complete bathroom installations

If you take pride in your work, care about the customer and want to build something long-term, we'd love to hear from you.
