Burbage Custom Windows Ltd is an established window and door manufacturer based in Hinckley with over 30 years of industry experience. From our purpose-built manufacturing facilities, we produce high quality products using advanced machinery and modern production techniques, supported by our own logistics fleet and installation services. Alongside our manufacturing operation, we operate Modern UPVC Windows, our rapidly growing online ecommerce division supplying windows and doors to customers across the entire UK, as the business continues to experience a sustained period of significant growth.

ROLE PROFILE

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and committed individual to join our busy delivery team as a Driver's Mate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their working career, gain practical experience and develop within an established business.

No previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Working alongside one of our experienced drivers, you will be responsible for:

· Assisting with the loading and unloading of windows, doors and associated products

· Helping to complete deliveries to customers and sites throughout the UK

· Safely lifting, carrying and handling heavy, large and sometimes awkward products

· Ensuring products are handled carefully and delivered without damage

· Supporting your driver with daily delivery duties

· Providing a professional and friendly service to customers

· Following company health and safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.

This is a physically demanding role, so you must be comfortable with regular manual work and working outdoors in different weather conditions.

WORKING HOURS & FLEXIBILITY

This is not a standard 9-to-5 position:

· Early morning starts from 04.00 are a regular requirement

· Start times may vary depending on delivery routes and schedules

· Finishing times are not always predictable and may be affected by traffic, delivery locations and other delays

· You must be willing to work flexible hours up to 50 hours per week and understand that some days may be longer than others

· Delivery routes can involve travelling throughout the UK

· Occasional overnight stays, hotels and expenses paid for.

RELIABILITY, PUNCTUALITY & COMMITMENT – ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL

Attendance and punctuality are critical requirements of this position as the role operates within a planned UK-wide delivery schedule, with employees working in designated two-person teams, so dependability is an essential requirement of this role, as the driver, delivery schedule and customers rely on the employee being available and ready for work.

The employee is therefore expected to attend work consistently and punctually in accordance with their scheduled working arrangements and understand that repeated lateness, unauthorised absence or failure to follow attendance procedures may result in formal action under the company's relevant procedures.

We want to be very clear from the outset: reliability, punctuality and commitment are essential requirements for this position.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

· Undertake regular physical work involving lifting, carrying and manoeuvring large, heavy and awkward products

· Excellent punctuality, reliability and commitment

· Willingness to work flexible hours up to 50 per week, including early starts from 04.00 and variable finishing times

· Willingness for the occasional overnight stay throughout the month

· Experience making multi drop deliveries a distinct advantage

· Full clean driving license a distinct advantage

· Self-motivated and focused, with a flexible attitude

· Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy & a commitment to quality

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
