Full job description

Job Overview

The Industrial Door Installation Coordinator & Supervisor is an office-based operational leadership role. In this position, you will be the central hub of our field operations, responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing industrial door installations regionally. You will oversee the daily deployment of field installation teams and meticulously coordinate the supply chain so that custom manufactured doors, components, and specialist plant equipment arrive on-site simultaneously. Your primary objective is to maximize crew efficiency, eliminate project downtime, and maintain high standards of service delivery from the comfort of our central office.

Key Responsibilities
1. Crew Scheduling & Resource Optimization

  • Manage the master installation calendar, strategically allocating daily and weekly schedules for employed engineers.
  • Optimize routing and team deployments to maximize productivity and reduce travel downtime across the east of england.
  • Act as the primary office-based escalation point for field teams, resolving scheduling conflicts, site access restrictions, or delays in real-time.

2. Product Pipeline & Plant Logistics

  • Cross-reference job specifications with warehouse stock / specialist supplier to ensure product allocated and ready for dispatch.
  • Liaise with the production and procurement teams to track manufacturing lead times for custom-built industrial doors, aligning installation dates with product completion.
  • Procure and schedule specialist plant hire (e.g., IPAF-rated scissor lifts, Tele handlers) ensuring equipment drop-offs precisely match crew and product arrival times on-site.

3. Site Readiness & Client Account Management

  • Engage with Main Contractors, Site Managers, and Clients via phone/email to verify site readiness (e.g., structural openings clear, floor levels set, three-phase power available) prior to dispatching teams.
  • Review site survey data and photographs submitted by field teams to double-check dimensions and structural compatibility before confirming installation dates.
  • Manage post-job administration, reviewing engineer sign-off sheets, photos of finished work, and handing over completed files to the invoicing team.

4. Remote Safety & Compliance Oversight

  • Prepare and issue project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to clients and site managers ahead of installations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Logistical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume scheduling, logistics coordination, or operations management (ideally within construction, industrial doors, perimeter security, or heavy mechanical sectors).
  • Leadership Capability: Proven ability to direct, supervise, and motivate field-based engineers and subcontractors from a remote office setting.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to read technical drawings, understand structural openings, and confidently discuss mechanical/electrical aspects of industrial doors (roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors).
  • Software Proficiency: Strong experience using CRM logistics platforms, scheduling tools, or workforce management software and Microsoft office.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills to build rapport with field crews while professionally managing demanding main contractors.
