Fire Door Fitter – London

Pay: £180 per day
Job Type: Full-time

The Passive Fire Protection Company is looking for an experienced Fire Door Fitter to join our growing team in London. We carry out passive fire protection works across a range of residential and commercial properties nationwide and are looking for a reliable fitter who takes pride in completing work to a high standard.

The Role

You will install, maintain and carry out remedial works to fire doors and doorsets, following relevant fire door requirements, manufacturer instructions and company procedures.

Typical duties will include:

  • Installing new fire doors and complete doorsets
  • Carrying out fire door remedial works and repairs
  • Installing or replacing hinges, closers, intumescent and smoke seals, locks, latches and other ironmongery
  • Adjusting doors and frames to achieve compliant gaps and operation
  • Installing thresholds and associated components where required
  • Completing work in accordance with BM TRADA requirements and relevant manufacturer specifications
  • Taking clear photographic evidence before, during and after works
  • Completing job records and relevant site documentation
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Working professionally in occupied residential and commercial properties

Experience & Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Fire Door Fitter
  • BM TRADA experience
  • Strong knowledge of fire door installation and remedial works
  • A good understanding of fire door components, tolerances and installation requirements
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A relevant CSCS card

Relevant fire door qualifications or accreditations would be an advantage.
