This position covers the Northeast region and is based from our Blaydon-on-Tyne branch.

You will work as part of a two-person fitting team alongside an existing labourer, installing uPVC windows and doors on new-build housing developments. A company van will be provided and travel throughout the region is a necessary part of the role, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

We're looking for someone with practical uPVC window and door fitting experience who takes pride in their workmanship, works safely and wants to develop their skills within an established new-build installation team.

Working Hours

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am–1:00pm

  • Installing plots of uPVC windows and doors inc. composite entrance doors, on new-build housing developments, on time and in full
  • Installing products accurately and to the required quality standards
  • Ensuring windows and doors are correctly fitted, adjusted and operating as intended
  • Following all required installation processes and procedures
  • Identifying and reporting installation, product or site issues
  • Loading and unloading the company van safely
  • Looking after products, materials, tools and equipment
  • Completing all required paperwork and installation records accurately
  • Working effectively with your fitting partner, site teams and GC Windows colleagues
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and individual site requirements

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Previous experience working with uPVC windows and doors is required. Previous experience specifically within the new-build construction sector is advantageous but not essential, as training and support can be provided.

You will also need:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation, or a willingness to undertake the qualification with training and support provided
  • Valid CSCS card or the ability to obtain the appropriate card as part of your development
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Practical uPVC window and door fitting experience
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work independently when required and effectively as part of a two-person fitting team
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • A commitment to safe working practices
  • A positive attitude built around integrity, teamwork, determination and pride

Salary & Benefits

£29,000–£33,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

This is a Band B position and, following successful completion of your probationary period, provides access to the company's Band B benefits package.

Benefits include:

  • 33 days' annual leave
  • Workplace pension
  • Medicash – help towards everyday healthcare costs
