Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Trainee Window Fitters. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills in the construction and installation industry, focusing on window fitting and related trades. As a Trainee Window Fitter, you will receive hands-on training while assisting experienced professionals in installing, repairing, and maintaining windows and associated fixtures. This paid position is ideal for those eager to start a career in construction with a focus on precision, safety, and craftsmanship.

Duties

  • Assist senior window fitters with the installation and removal of windows, doors, and glass panels across various properties.
  • Support the preparation of work sites, including measuring, cutting, and handling materials using hand tools and power tools.
  • Learn to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions to ensure accurate fitting.
  • Help with site safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Support with masonry work or plastering as needed for finishing touches or structural adjustments.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; a strong interest in construction trades is essential.
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn new skills such as welding, electrical systems, masonry, or roofing techniques.
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately from schematics or technical guides.
  • Prior experience in construction or related trades (such as plumbing, carpentry, or plastering) is a plus but not essential.
