Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic door systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet the highest safety standards.

This position is based in England and Wales, and the engineer will be responsible for attending jobs with clients in various locations within these regions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years door engineer experience.
  • UK driving license.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various locations as needed.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Qualified to BS EN16005 & BS 7036 for Automatic doors.
  • Mechanical Engineering skills
  • CSCS Card
  • You will be required to undertake an Enhanced Adult and Child workforce DBS check and subscribe to the update service in order to comply with the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults at some of our work sites.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Record, Geze, Assa Abloy, Dorma, Kone
  • Electrical skills & qualifications, Installation and 18th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations would be Ideal.
  • SPA Forecourt
  • Working at height, asbestos, manual handling & general safety training provided

Responsibilities:

Installation and Commissioning:

  • Install and commission automatic door systems according to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on automatic doors to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing automatic door systems and implement effective repairs.

Customer Support:

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Educate clients on the proper use and maintenance of automatic door systems.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards during installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Generate reports for clients and internal stakeholders as needed.

Training:

  • Provide training and guidance to clients and other team members on the proper use and maintenance of automatic door systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience with automatic doors is essential, this position will be a field-based role.
  • Technical proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of automatic door systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel within England and Wales as required.
  • Working knowledge of planned maintenance and repair of automatic doors, manual doors, stand-alone access control systems, panic hardware, floor springs, door closers and locks.
  • You will be required to undertake an Enhanced Adult and Child workforce DBS check and subscribe to the update service in order to comply with the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults at some of our work sites.
