Full job description
Overview
Lockertek Ltd is looking for a practical, organised and customer-focused Service & Installations Manager to coordinate and carry out locker installations, servicing and repairs across the UK.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining office-based planning and administration with work at customer sites. You will help projects run smoothly from the initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring customers receive a professional service and installations are finished to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable organising a busy workload in the office and using tools on site. Previous office experience, confidence with computers and basic carpentry skills are essential.
Key responsibilities
Installation, servicing and repairs
- Install and assemble lockers and associated products at customer premises across the UK.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs, including replacing locks, doors and other components.
- Diagnose faults and identify suitable repair solutions and replacement parts.
- Complete basic carpentry, adjustments and fitting work where required.
- Undertake site surveys, take accurate measurements and assess access and installation requirements.
- Check completed work, demonstrate products to customers and provide a clear handover.
- Work safely, use tools correctly and keep customer sites clean and tidy.
Planning and office administration
- Plan and coordinate installation and servicing appointments, taking account of customer requirements, travel and available resources.
- Liaise with customers, colleagues and suppliers to arrange access, confirm project details and ensure the correct products and parts are available.
- Prepare and maintain job records, schedules, site notes and completion reports.
- Support quotations by identifying the labour, materials and parts needed for each job.
- Monitor progress, communicate updates and resolve issues that could affect deadlines.
- Help improve service processes, organisation and the overall customer experience.
Customer service and problem-solving
- Act as a professional point of contact for installation and servicing enquiries.
- Communicate clearly with customers before, during and after site visits.
- Respond calmly to changing priorities, unexpected site challenges and urgent repair requests.
- Take ownership of problems and follow them through to a satisfactory resolution.
What we’re looking for
Essential skills and experience
- Previous experience working in an office environment, with strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Confidence using hand and power tools, supported by practical experience in installation, maintenance, fitting or a similar field.
- Basic carpentry skills and the ability to measure accurately and complete work neatly.
- Computer literacy, including confidence using email, Microsoft Office and digital record systems.
- Education to A-level standard in English and mathematics but not essential
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
- A practical approach to problem-solving, with good attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK, with the possibility of working away from home when required.
- A full, clean driving licence is essential, as the role involves driving a company vehicle.
- The ability to carry out the practical duties of the role, including handling lockers and equipment safely with appropriate assistance.
Desirable experience
- Experience installing or maintaining lockers, furniture, storage systems or similar products.
- Experience coordinating service visits, installations or customer projects.
- Familiarity with locks, fittings and general repair work.
- Experience undertaking site surveys and working in commercial premises.
- Previous supervisory or team coordination experience.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
