The Company

AM Defence & Marine is a long established, successful company based in the South of England. We provide industrial door and barrier services including service and repair as well as installation to a variety of customers from small engineering companies through to large pharmaceutical companies and military establishments.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has a flexible attitude to carry out servicing, repair and PUWER inspections on a variety of industrial doors including roller shutters, sectional and sling doors, hangar doors and barriers at customer sites throughout the South West of England. You will be based at our Woolsbridge depot.

As part of the role you would be expected to complete all the necessary associated paperwork in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.

You will also be expected to adhere to current Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental legislation as well as those policies laid down by our customers.

Successful candidate must show

· A proven experience working as an industrial door engineer with knowledge of diagnosing and repairing of faults and an understanding of PUWER.

· A strong attention to detail is essential

· An ability to both work on your own and as part of a team when required

· Current UK driving licence

· Excellent customer focus, with ability to both listen to customer requirements and communicate with the customer whilst on site

· DHF qualifications are highly desirable

· An understanding of the principles of working to risk assessments and method statements

· Physically fit and able to work at heights

· Background of working in electrical and/or mechanical engineering with a good understanding of general engineering fundamentals

· Willingness to work overtime when required
