Supporter and Donations Officer – Air Ambulance Charity Reports to: Lottery and Regular Giving Manager

Location: Dorset (Wimborne)

Hours: Full-time/Part-time (min 22.5 hours per week) to 37.5 hours per week

Salary: circa £28,000 (FTE)

About the Charity

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road delivered critical care capability, providing critical care where it is needed most.

Role Purpose

The Supporter and Donations Officer plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing relationships with supporters and lottery participants of the Air Ambulance Charity. The role ensures excellent donor care, efficient donation processing and supports the growth of the charity’s lottery and regular giving programs. This is a key position in delivering an excellent supporter experience that encourages long-term engagement and sustainable income for our life-saving service.

Key Responsibilities:Supporter care & Communications

· Serve as a primary point of contact for supporters, providing outstanding customer service via phone, email, and post.

· Respond to enquiries related to donations, lottery participation, and general fundraising queries promptly and professionally.

Donation & Lottery Administration

· Accurately process member data, direct debit, standing orders and lottery entries.

· Maintain and update supporter data on the charity's database, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation (GDPR).

· Support the weekly draw process for the charity lottery, including data preparation, winner notifications, and prize dispatch.

Data Management & Reporting

· Ensure supporter records are accurate and up to date, enabling effective communications and campaign tracking.

Campaign & Fundraising Support

· Assist with the delivery of lottery and fundraising campaigns, appeals, and stewardship initiatives.

· Support events and donor engagement activities where appropriate (in-person or virtual).

Person Specification:Essential:

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

· Strong administrative and organisational skills with great attention to detail.

· Customer service experience, ideally in a charity or fundraising environment.

· Comfortable working with databases or CRM systems.

· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

· Proactive, positive attitude, and a genuine interest in charitable work.

· Comfortable working in a small office environment.

Desirable:

· Experience working in a lottery, supporter engagement or income-processing role (ideally involving direct debit processing).

· Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and charity fundraising regulations.

· Passion for the work of air ambulance or emergency response charities.

Experience:

· Previous experience of working in administrative role in a fast-paced office environment.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a people focussed engagement role

· Experience in customer service and handling queries.

Education:

· English and Maths GCSE’s Grade 5/C or above, or equivalent

Working Conditions:

· Office-based role.

· Occasional travel to charity fundraising events or meetings.

· Full-Time or Part-Time Options.

Full-Time: (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Part-Time: (Minimum 22.5 hours per week, with flexible options available)
