Full job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handyman to join our teams on a busy project in South End. You will be a skilled all-rounder capable across pipelaying, deep drainage, externals and external works, working within an established gang to deliver high-quality groundworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
  • Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to correct bed, surround and levels
  • Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout
  • Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pump for the task
  • Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
  • Benching of all manholes
  • External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
  • Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
  • Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections

REQUIREMENTS

  • CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification
  • CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper*
  • Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
  • CAT & Genny Training
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
  • Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

  • CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
  • Abrasive Wheels Training
  • Face Fit Certification
  • Harness Awareness Certification
  • 5–10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
  • Experienced working gangs / teams highly sought after
  • Confined Space ticket
