Experienced Drainage Engineer

Metro Rod Cambridge & King's Lynn

£34,500–£39,300 including regular overtime | Realistic OTE £40,000–£45,000+

Full-time | Permanent | 45 hours per week | Paid travel

We are looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our growing team, covering King's Lynn, West Norfolk and surrounding areas.

This is a varied, field-based role working across domestic and commercial properties. We are looking for someone with practical drainage experience who can work independently, investigate problems and carry out repairs to a high standard.

Experience in pump maintenance, CCTV surveys or specialist drain repairs would be particularly welcome, although you do not need experience in every area.

The Role

Your work will include:

  • Drain unblocking, cleaning and high-pressure water jetting
  • CCTV drain surveys and fault investigations
  • Drain repairs and remedial works
  • Identifying defects and recommending appropriate repairs
  • Completing job reports, photographs and supporting documentation
  • Participating in a 1-in-5 on-call rota

Depending on your experience, there will also be opportunities to undertake pump servicing and repairs, resin sleeve installations, robotic cutting and UV drain lining.

Pay & Benefits

  • Basic hourly rate of £13.50–£15.50, depending on experience
  • Annual earnings of approximately £34,500–£39,300 including regular overtime
  • Realistic OTE £40,000–£45,000+ including call-outs and performance incentives
  • 45-hour working week
  • Paid travel from leaving home to returning home during normal contractual hours
  • On-site overtime paid at 1.5x after 45 qualifying hours
  • Paid call-outs as part of the on-call rota
  • Additional performance incentives
  • Company van taken home, with fuel card provided

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous professional drainage experience
  • Has practical knowledge of drainage systems, jetting and fault finding
  • Can work independently and solve problems on site
  • Takes pride in delivering work to a high standard
  • Is professional and confident when dealing with customers
  • Can complete accurate job reports
  • Holds a full UK driving licence

Experience with CCTV surveys, pumps, resin sleeves or UV lining would be an advantage.
