Prep Chef – Production & Development

Supermarket of Dreams

We’re looking for a Prep Chef to join our growing Production & Development team at Supermarket of Dreams.

Job purpose:
Around 50% hands-on prep (sandwiches, salads and grab-and-go food for the shop) and 50% recipe development, working with the team to test and develop new ideas using exceptional seasonal produce from Supermarket of Dreams and Notting Hill Fish & Meat.

This role would suit a foodie Commis or CDP who wants to build experience in food development, product ranging, and working closely with high-quality ingredients — all in a daytime, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily prep of sandwiches, salads and grab-and-go items for Supermarket of Dreams
  • Support the team in developing and testing new recipes and products
  • Work with seasonal, premium produce across meat, fish and veg
  • Help refine the range based on feedback and sales performance
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and organisation

About You

  • Experience as a Commis Chef or CDP in a professional kitchen
  • Passionate about food, produce and learning new skills
  • Organised, reliable and keen to develop creatively
  • Looking to gain hands-on experience in food production and development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
