We’re looking for someone with previous grounds maintenance and/or window cleaning experience who cares about the quality of their work. Someone who notices the finishing touches, looks after their equipment and leaves each site knowing they’ve done a good job.

For this vacancy, previous relevant experience, a full driving licence and experience towing trailers are essential. We don’t require a set number of years’ experience—we’re interested in what you can do and how you approach your work.

Established in 2007, Alisha Property Services Ltd is a team of more than 14 people providing grounds maintenance, window cleaning and property maintenance for schools, residential properties and other sites across Essex.

You’ll have time to get to know our team, sites, equipment and working standards before the 2027 growing season begins. You’ll bring experience in grounds maintenance or window cleaning, and we’ll help you build the wider skills needed for this varied role.

What you’ll be doing

Your main duties will include:

• Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and weed control.
• Traditional and water-fed pole window cleaning.
• Driving company vans and towing trailers carrying equipment.
• Using grounds maintenance machinery, including ride-on mowers.
• Marking sports pitches and running tracks.
• Completing scheduled jobs carefully, efficiently and to a high standard.

Depending on your skills and training, you may also help with gutter cleaning and repairs, pressure washing, fencing, landscaping, general property repairs and school caretaking cover.

What does a typical day look like?

You’ll usually start at our Wickford yard, loading the van with the tools and equipment needed for the day before heading to sites across Essex. Some days you’ll work at one site; on others, you’ll visit several.

At each site, you’ll sign in and carry out the scheduled work—whether that’s grounds maintenance, window cleaning or property maintenance. Before leaving, you’ll check the quality of your work, make sure everything is tidy and sign out.

You’ll then head to the next job or return to the yard to unload. The work varies from day to day, but taking care and leaving each site to a high standard is always part of the job.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll need:

• Previous practical experience in grounds maintenance and/or window cleaning.
• A full driving licence and previous trailer-towing experience.
• A reliable approach, good time management and the ability to use your initiative.
• Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• A willingness to learn, work safely and support your teammates.
• The ability to carry out practical outdoor work throughout the year.

You don’t need experience in every duty listed. Training will be provided to develop your skills across the role.

An enhanced DBS check is required, which we will arrange before you start.

Working hours

• Monday to Friday, with working hours scheduled between 6am and 6pm.
• March–October: averaging 42.5–45 hours per week.
• November–February: averaging 37.5–40 hours per week.
• Occasional Saturday overtime will be required, potentially one Saturday per month. Additional overtime may also be available.

Our busiest periods include the school holidays, so annual leave during these times is limited and requires prior agreement. The company closes over Christmas.
