Heckfield Estates are looking for proactive, service-oriented and enthusiastic Facilities Maintenance Operative to join our Team.
Heckfield Park Farm is the original 340-acre Home Farm, a mixed arable and livestock farm (certified organic, and following biodynamic principles). Heckfield Place, which resides on the estate (www.heckfieldplace.com) is a Georgian family home now lovingly restored to a five-star hotel and surrounded by our 438 acres of secluded Hampshire countryside.
Our Facilities Maintenance team cover a range of tasks across both grounds and buildings maintenance covering the estates portfolio of properties, which, in addition to the above, includes; Highfield Park Hotel, Reading Warehouse, Staff Houses and several other properties within the locale
If you are working in the grounds your duties may include:
- General gardens work – such as mowing, edging and upkeep of grassland areas, weeding and mulching of landscaped areas, strimming & hedge trimming, Leaf blowing/collection, litter picking
- Maintenance and upkeep of driveway, tracks, paths, roads, patios, stone steps and staircases
- Irrigation services, surface and foul water drainage
- Boundary fencing
- Waste management
- Winter services; gritting, snow clearance etc.
If you are working on our buildings, your duties will mainly be based around planned maintenance, repair, and upkeep of:
- External and internal decorations, floor finishing, ceramic tiling, brickwork, pointing, render, glazing
- Plumbing, Electrical, Central Heating, Boiler/Hot water (gas/oil)
- Roofing
- Rainwater goods
- Window cleaning
- Joinery
As this is an external role, the ability to adapt, remain flexible and be prepared to work in all types of weather is required. The rota is 5 days out of 7 and includes weekend working
Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience such as grounds maintenance (horticultural/ able to use a ride on mower, strimmer, hedge and brush cutter), however training can be provided or buildings maintenance (such as trade experience in carpentry, kitchen/bathroom fitting, plumbing/heating, brick laying, roofing, ceramic tiling, dry lining/plastering or decoration). Any experience in Mechanical / Engineering and Electrical disciplines will all also be considered
