General Construction Labourer

JG Pears is one of the UK's leading processors of animal by-products and food waste. We are looking for a General Construction Labourer on a permanent basis working Monday to Friday, 7am- 4pm (45 hours per week). We are looking for team players with excellent attendance records. The role involves working outdoors all year round.

Responsibilities

• Site maintenance, ensuring the site is safe, tidy and organised which includes maintaining work areas.
• General building work including concrete work, structural repairs etc.
• General gardening, tending to site greenery.
• Erecting safety barriers and signage where needed ensuring a site working environment for all staff.
• Remove and install drainage pipework to ensure proper water flow and drainage on site.
• Prepare groundworks according to specification.
• Lay pavements and driveways or other outdoor surfaces laying the correct materials (concrete, tarmac, paving slabs).
• Industrial cleaning
• Other tasks that may be required to assist with repairs and cover in the factory as when required

The above list is not exhaustive, from time to time, you will be required to partake in other activities.

Requirements

• A building safety card is essential
• Previous experience in a building/pluming position is essential
• Experience of working at heights is desirable, but not essential as training will be given
• Forklift and other mobile plant licences will be an advantage
• Experience of operating a 360 excavator will also be an advantage
• Ensure all tasks undertaken are in a safe environment, wearing the correct PPE at all times
• Use equipment, tools and machinery safely and effectively reporting all defects

Due to the location, you must have your own transport.
