we are a building company based in Ross-on-Wye with building sites in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire.

· About the role:

· Miles Construct is looking to hire a Construction Estimator to join the team in preparing and submitting quotations for clients across a range of exciting projects.

· From new builds and extensions to renovations, barn conversions, renovations, to maintenance. We get a range of plans through, some with very little information to no information - basicly make it up, but you need to know how, to a very well detailed plan:0)

· Some jobs are small maintenance works, to fix a few slates on the roof, to guttering, facsia boards, to fixing driveways, to repairing internals of a house. we price everything, no job missed, harder the job to price the better, some will be, just taken by pictures, on emails to be priced.

· I would say, you will have needed to have quit a lot of experience in the building trade in the UK to price our works, with experience in pricing your own jobs. You will need to now how structures are built and made up from groundworks to completion. Ie some you will need to basicly build your self and tell the client how we propose to build it, in written detail

· The successful applicant will also need to personally have contact with the clients, intel the contract is won. call them up amend quotes to the needs ETC. you need a lot patience in the process, being very very customer freindly

· I have been pricing for my own company for many years, so I’m open minded who we get, basically I just need someone to modernize the way prices are done, (Quicker and more accurate - with takeoff lists availble to our project manager.

· I won’t write anyone off intel I’ve spoken to you or at least read your CV. But if you are basic on computer skills this job isn’t for you. High techy then great.

· Key responsibilities:

· · Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment.

· · Obtaining quotes from suppliers and contractors with a specified time frame.

· · Assessing the risk levels associated with a project.

· · Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done.

· · Preparing tenders for existing clients and new contracts.

· · Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs, if not being done on buget, at the end of the day we are all here to try &
make some money, if you make money for the comany we are happy to share it with you.

· About you:

· The successful candidate must also have a good understanding of current CDM Health and Safety requirements, modern methods of construction and contractual awareness.

· Experience of a similar role will have provided you with the knowledge and expertise to succeed in this role. You will be a confident individual who is able to communicate effectively and efficiently with supplies, contractors, existing clients and new contracts.

Who ever takes this job on will have massive responsibity please know what you are applying for. Its the sort of job that can make or break a company.
