3.5T Delivery Driver / Production Operative

Location: Mere, Wiltshire

Starting salary: £16,473 per annum (£26,770 full-time equivalent)

Hours: 24 hours a week across three days, core hours of 8am–4:45pm, including a 45-minute unpaid break each day.

Hillbrush is a family business with over a century of experience producing high-quality brushes and cleaning tools for the cleaning and hygiene industry. We are looking for a reliable 3.5T Delivery Driver / Production Operative to join our team at our modern premises in Mere, Wiltshire.

About the role

This varied role combines deliveries with practical factory work. You will drive delivery vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes maximum authorised mass (MAM) to deliver products to customers and prisons, transport equipment to exhibitions and help set up and dismantle our trade stand. When driving work is reduced, or you return from deliveries with time remaining in your shift, you will support factory operations.

  • Load and unload safely, check orders and secure loads
  • Complete delivery paperwork and report delays, shortages or damage
  • Carry out vehicle checks and follow road safety, customer and prison security procedures
  • Support assembly, packing, material movement and other production tasks, with training provided.

Some flexibility in working days and start times may be required to meet business needs. Advance notice of changes will be provided.

About you

  • A full driving licence valid for driving in the UK, with the appropriate entitlement to drive the delivery vehicles used in the role up to 3.5 tonnes maximum authorised mass (MAM)
  • English language skills sufficient to read and understand delivery paperwork, written instructions and safety information, and to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • A safe and reliable approach, attention to detail, and good customer service and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn factory tasks and work flexibly. Previous delivery or factory experience is desirable.

The work includes loading and unloading, moving materials and periods of standing during factory duties. Safe working procedures and handling aids must be used as required. We will consider reasonable adjustments to support you in the role.
