Full job description

Amazon FBA Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Self-Employed)

Location: Newbury

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Approximately 40–60 hours per month (flexible & variable)

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and organised individual to join our growing Amazon wholesale business.

The role involves preparing products for shipment to Amazon fulfilment centres. While similar to a warehouse role, you’ll be working in a clean office environment with a mixture of practical and computer-based tasks.

Following initial training, you’ll work independently for most of the time, so we’re looking for someone who is trustworthy, proactive and able to manage their own workload.

Hours

This is a self-employed contract with approximately 40–60 hours per month, although hours are not guaranteed.

Most work takes place over a two-week period in the middle of each month as stock deliveries arrive. Outside of these busy periods, there may be little or no work.

Working hours are completely flexible, with 24/7 office access. You can choose when you work, provided deliveries are processed promptly.

Please note: Initial training will take place in person on a Friday and Saturday, so applicants must be available on these days.

Responsibilities

  • Collect deliveries from the building’s mail room.
  • Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and Amazon listings to ensure the correct products have been received, reporting any missing, damaged or incorrect items.
  • Prepare products to Amazon FBA standards (labelling, bagging and other prep work).
  • Create Amazon shipping plans using Amazon Seller Central.
  • Pack cartons and print shipping labels.
  • Arrange courier collections.
  • Occasionally drop parcels at a local courier or Post Office.
  • Keep packaging materials stocked and the workspace clean and organised.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Computer literate and confident learning new software.
  • Physically able to lift and move boxes weighing up to approximately 25 kg (trolleys are available for transportation but some lifting is required).

Warehouse, fulfilment or e-commerce experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Own laptop suitable for running web-based software.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Able to work on a self-employed basis and submit a monthly invoice for hours worked.

Initial Review Period

The successful applicant will begin with a one-month paid review period.

During this time, you’ll receive full training and learn our processes. Accuracy is our priority, but once trained you’ll also be expected to work efficiently and achieve a good level of productivity.

At the end of the review period, we’ll assess reliability, attention to detail, ability to work independently and overall productivity to ensure the role is a good fit for both parties.

Opportunity to Grow

We’re a growing business, and while this role currently offers around 40–60 hours per month, we hope the workload will increase over time.

For the right person, there is genuine potential for additional hours, greater responsibility and, ultimately, a full-time position as the business continues to grow. Although we can’t guarantee a timeline, we’d love to find someone who wants to grow with the business.

How to Apply

Please send your CV along with a short covering note answering the following question:

Have you ever worked in a role where accuracy and attention to detail were important? If so, please tell us a little about it and why those skills mattered.

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (required)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)
