Substance Use Recovery Worker

Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary – 12 weeks
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Role

We are recruiting a Substance Use Recovery Worker to support individuals experiencing substance use issues, helping them achieve positive outcomes through person-centred recovery planning, effective case management and harm reduction interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload and complete comprehensive substance use and risk assessments.
• Develop and review personalised recovery and risk management plans.
• Deliver group interventions and harm reduction support.
• Maintain accurate case notes, reports and client records.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Support access to physical health services, BBV screening and needle exchange services.
• Safeguard service users and maintain professional boundaries.

Essential Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of substance use services and recovery support.
• Experience in caseload management and risk assessment.
• Understanding of harm reduction, suicide and self-harm awareness.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Experience working with partner agencies.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and maintain accurate records.
• Enhanced DBS covering both Adults’ and Children’s Barred Lists is essential.
