Job Summary

ARO Resourcing is looking for compassionate and dedicated Social Workers on behalf of our Local Authority client. You will work closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners to promote independence, improve wellbeing, and deliver person-centred support. The successful candidate will carry out strengths-based assessments, develop support plans, and coordinate services that help individuals achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload using a strengths-based approach to promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Complete assessments, reviews, and support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide advice and practical support to residents and carers, including access to:
  • Assistive technology
  • Adaptations and equipment
  • Welfare benefits
  • Community resources
  • Employment and volunteering opportunities
  • Coordinate short-term care services and support carers by arranging respite where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, carers, and community organisations to develop effective care plans.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (MDT), NHS services, housing providers, and partner agencies to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic case records and prepare reports, assessments, and documentation as required.
  • Safeguard vulnerable adults by identifying risks and taking appropriate action in line with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Ensure all interventions comply with relevant legislation, professional standards, and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience conducting strengths-based assessments and support planning.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding legislation, and relevant social care policies.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Child and Adult Workforce) is required.
  • Ability to provide 5 years of employment references.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong report writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable

  • Experience working with adults, older people, or individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of community resources and local support services.
  • Experience using electronic case management systems.
