Senior Social Worker – Fostering
Salary: £38,000 – £46,000 + Out-of-Hours Allowance
Location: London & Surrounding Areas
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We're seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our outstanding fostering agency and play a key role in supervision, staff development, and service improvement. This is more than a caseload—this is an opportunity to lead, influence, and deliver exceptional outcomes for children in care.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise a team of Social Workers, Assistants, and Support Workers
  • Manage a complex caseload with confidence and autonomy
  • Deputise for the Team Manager when required
  • Champion high-quality, child-centred practice and risk management
  • Chair complex meetings
  • Represent the agency at panels, reviews, and external meetings
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in children and families
  • Strong knowledge of fostering legislation and safeguarding practice
  • Skilled in report writing, supervision, and analytical thinking
  • Confident leading teams and chairing meetings

Desirable:

  • Experience in independent fostering
  • Supervision experience
  • Familiarity with systemic practice or Secure Base model
