Full job description
Welfare Support Executive (Qualified Social Worker) | London | Circa £40,000 + Benefits | Permanent
Do work that genuinely matters. We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's most respected charities supporting the Armed Forces community, for a Welfare Support Executive to join their casework team in London.
This is a role where your social work skills translate directly into life-changing support for people who have served their country and now need someone in their corner. You will carry your own caseload, assess welfare needs, and build action plans that connect people with the right support at the right time. You will also be a trusted source of social work expertise for colleagues across the organisation, shaping how the charity approaches safeguarding.
Why this role stands out
- Meaningful, varied casework with real autonomy over how you manage it
- A genuinely supportive, values-led organisation with a strong internal culture
- Hybrid working: up to 2 days per week from home, based at a Central London HQ
- The chance to influence safeguarding policy and practice, not just follow it
- Circa £40,000 plus a strong benefits package
What you will bring
- Qualified social worker status with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience in a Local Authority or the charitable sector
- Solid understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
- The people skills to build trust quickly with vulnerable beneficiaries and professional partners alike
- An interest in, or understanding of, the Armed Forces community is a bonus, though not essential
On offer: Circa £40,000, permanent, full time, hybrid working, Enhanced DBS required.
If you want casework that has real weight behind it, and an employer that backs its social workers properly, we would like to hear from you. Apply with your CV and a covering letter telling us why this role is right for you.
