Assistant Manager – NoFilter Coffee House & Bistro

We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team at NoFilter Coffee House & Bistro!

We're a busy, independent coffee house and bistro serving great coffee, homemade food and cocktails. We're a hardworking, friendly team who enjoy what we do and take pride in delivering great service.

This role would suit an experienced Assistant Manager or someone currently working in a senior supervisory role who's ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a busy hospitality environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Manager, you'll help oversee the day-to-day running of NoFilter, ensuring service runs smoothly, standards are maintained and the team feels supported.

You'll be comfortable taking responsibility for shifts, making day-to-day decisions and keeping things running efficiently in the Manager's absence.

This is a hands-on role, so you'll be just as happy making coffees, serving customers and helping on the floor as you are organising the team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Manager with daily operations.
• Overseeing shifts and ensuring service runs smoothly.
• Supervising, training and supporting the front-of-house team.
• Maintaining excellent customer service and presentation standards.
• Getting involved in all aspects of service, including making coffee and supporting the bar.
• Managing opening and closing procedures.
• Assisting with stock control, ordering and waste management.
• Ensuring food safety, cleanliness and company procedures are followed.
• Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in a senior supervisory role within a busy hospitality environment.
• Coffee-making or barista experience would be an advantage, but we're happy to provide training for the right person.
• Confidence in managing shifts and supporting a team.
• A friendly, approachable personality with excellent communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to stay calm, organised and focused during busy periods.
• Someone who uses their initiative and takes responsibility for their work.
• A genuine interest in hospitality, quality food and great coffee.
• Flexibility, reliability and a willingness to get stuck in wherever needed.
