Self Employed Ecologist

  • London & Surrey Based
  • Day Rate Depending on Experience
  • Self Employed / Freelance
  • Part Time / Ad Hoc Work Available

GraftinGardeners Ltd are looking for a reliable and experienced self employed Ecologist to assist with a range of arboricultural and landscaping projects across London and Surrey.

The role will involve carrying out ecological surveys, protected species assessments, reporting and providing ecological guidance in relation to tree works and development projects.

Typical works may include:

  • Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA)
  • Bat surveys and protected species surveys
  • Ecological supervision and watching briefs
  • Advice relating to nesting birds, bats and wildlife legislation
  • Assisting with planning and arboricultural projects
  • Producing reports where required

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant ecological qualifications and experience
  • Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and best practice
  • Protected species licences beneficial
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
