We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join the team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Projects & Programme Delivery, you will manage a diverse portfolio of maintenance, refurbishment, infrastructure and capital projects across the University estate.

Operating within the University’s Estates & Infrastructure governance framework, you will support the delivery of integrated annual and multi-year investment programmes aligned to operational priorities, asset management objectives and the University’s wider strategic ambitions.

The role will involve managing projects through the full lifecycle, including:

  • feasibility and option appraisal
  • procurement and contractor management
  • project delivery and commissioning
  • stakeholder engagement and reporting
  • handover and post-project review

You will work closely with Estates Operations, Procurement, Finance, academic departments and external consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and with minimal disruption within a live Higher Education environment.

As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process if a suitable redeployee is identified.

For informal enquiries about this vacancy, please contact Dave Stanbury Interim Head of Projects & Programme Delivery. (dave.stanbury@edgehill.ac.uk )

About You

You will be an experienced project professional with a strong track record of delivering construction, infrastructure, refurbishment or lifecycle projects within complex operational environments.

You will also demonstrate:

  • strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • experience managing external consultants and contractors
  • good knowledge of project governance, risk management and financial control
  • understanding of statutory compliance, CDM and construction health & safety requirements
  • the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing operational demands

Experience within Higher Education or similarly complex estates environments would be advantageous.

At Edge Hill University, Facilities Management plays a critical role in supporting the student experience and the long-term sustainability of our award-winning campus.

We are entering a significant period of estates investment focused on:

  • backlog maintenance reduction
  • lifecycle replacement
  • infrastructure resilience

You will have the opportunity to:

  • contribute to meaningful investment across an award-winning campus
  • work on a broad and varied portfolio of projects
  • help shape a growing Projects & Programme Delivery function
  • work closely with senior stakeholders across the University
  • develop professionally within an ambitious and supportive environment
