An exciting opportunity awaits you to join our growing Multiagency Alternative Education Team! As an EOTAS Professional Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all pupils with education health and care plans, children missing education, and excluded groups of children and young people access appropriate education. This is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils!

As an EOTAS Professional Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with alternative education providers, schools, and academies to fulfil Nottinghamshire County Council’s statutory obligations.
  • Working closely with various Nottinghamshire County Council services, including the SEND service, fair access team, virtual school, and social emotional and mental health team, to secure appropriate support and access to education.
  • Contributing to the coordination of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Children Missing Education (CME) Strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory duties to mitigate risks associated with high-level fines.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in education, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs or who are excluded from school.
  • A strong understanding of the legal framework surrounding education and safeguarding.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Compassionate Communication: The ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team player who thrives in a multi-agency environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The capacity to make sound decisions and prioritise resources effectively.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: The ability to handle challenging situations with a positive attitude.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:

  • A place to belong: A friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Professional Development: Opportunities for continuous learning and growth.
  • Flexible Working: A supportive environment that promotes work-life balance.
  • Generous Leave: Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with ample time off.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something meaningful! If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families, we want to hear from you. Apply today and help us create a brighter future for our community!
