Ready to impact a better future?

As an Electrical Technician supporting the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), you’ll help keep a critical healthcare environment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your work will directly support patient care, colleagues, and the wider community by ensuring essential electrical services are always available.

In this role, you’ll be part of a trusted estates team delivering a positive impact every day. From planned maintenance to urgent repairs, your expertise will help create a safe, compliant, and resilient hospital estate — where technology, care, and people come together for the future.

What you’ll do as an Electrical Technician

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Maintain electrical services, plant, and equipment across the hospital estate to high safety and performance standards
  • Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance as directed by estates supervisors and managers
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of electrical systems and equipment
  • Work safely at all times, assessing risks, following permits and policies, and knowing when to seek advice or support
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and hospital staff regarding work activity, progress, and service availability
  • Accurately complete work orders and records using computerised labour control and time and attendance systems

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

  • Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training programme
  • Relevant City and Guilds and or BTEC electrical qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a similar environment, ideally within large or complex buildings
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical building services
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach

Vetting and checks

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
