Job description

CLC, part of Axis CLC, is a national maintenance and refurbishment provider supporting clients across the healthcare, defence, leisure, heritage, commercial and education sectors. Backed by over 110 years of combined experience and the wider strength of Axis CLC, operating from 23 UK offices and employing more than 2,500 people nationwide, we deliver responsive repairs, planned maintenance, compliance, decarbonisation and refurbishment services through a UK-wide operational network and long-established regional presence.

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our team delivering responsive maintenance repairs and electrical testing across void and occupied properties throughout the Chester, Anglesey and Preston areas. You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical faults, carrying out repairs and completing inspection and testing to ensure all works meet the required quality, safety and compliance standards. Ideally, you will be based centrally to these areas, as the role will involve travelling to Chester, Anglesey and Preston on designated working days.

What You'll Deliver

  • Carry out responsive electrical repairs and maintenance across void and occupied properties.

  • Undertake electrical inspection and testing, including EICRs and any required remedial works.

  • Diagnose electrical faults, identify solutions and ensure safe isolation and effective first-time resolution wherever possible.

  • Complete electrical installations, repairs and maintenance in accordance with current BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).

  • Ensure all electrical works are completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety and compliance requirements.

  • Travel to Chester, Anglesey and Preston on designated working days to deliver maintenance and repair services.

  • Maintain accurate job information via PDA or mobile device, including certification, materials and time records.

  • Work independently or as part of a team while maintaining effective communication with supervisors, clients and residents.

  • Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while working within occupied and void properties.

About You

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.

  • AM2 qualification.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, including Amendment 4.

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.

  • Proven experience carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis within domestic properties.

  • Experience working within responsive maintenance, voids or social housing environments.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Ideally based centrally to Chester, Anglesey and Preston, with the flexibility to travel between these locations on designated days.

  • Able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and meet BPSS requirements as a minimum.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

  • Able to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

  • Good understanding of electrical regulations, safe isolation procedures and health and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity. You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

What We Offer

  • Up to £41,600 depending on experience

  • Company van and fuel card.

  • Pension scheme and life assurance.

  • 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays.

  • Perkbox benefits, including discounts, perks and wellbeing support.

  • One paid volunteer day.

  • Opportunities for development and progression across Axis CLC.
