Green Living UK | St Helens | North West England

Green Living UK is an established and growing solar installation company based in St Helens, providing domestic and commercial solar PV and battery storage installations across the North West.

Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking to recruit an experienced, fully qualified Electrician to join our expanding team.

We have a strong pipeline of work, including private domestic and commercial installations, alongside ongoing work for a major electricity provider.

The Role

You will be involved in the electrical installation, testing, inspection, commissioning and certification of solar PV and battery storage systems across a range of domestic and commercial properties.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning solar PV systems and associated electrical equipment.
  • Installing and configuring battery storage systems and inverters.
  • Installing and commissioning EV chargers
  • Carrying out electrical testing, inspection and certification.
  • Fault-finding and diagnosing electrical and system performance issues.
  • Ensuring all installations comply with current BS 7671 regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Completing all necessary installation paperwork and certification.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for an electrician who can demonstrate:

  • Fully qualified electrician status (Level 3 NVQ or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent).
  • Strong electrical installation and testing experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Own reliable van suitable for carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for installations from start to finish.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience installing solar PV systems.
  • Experience installing and commissioning battery storage systems.
  • Experience with a range of solar inverters and renewable energy technologies.

Solar experience is not essential, as training and development opportunities will be available for the right candidate. However, applicants with existing solar PV and battery storage experience will be particularly welcome.
