Bring your electrical skills to a role where your work really matters

At Plus Dane, you’ll have a permanent 35-hour-a-week role, a strong benefits package and the opportunity to use your skills to help keep customers’ homes safe and well maintained.

Salary: £37,273 per annum (£20.48 per hour based on a 35-hour week), plus a strong benefits package including a 10% employer pension contribution, generous annual leave and paid call-out arrangements.

Why join us?

Work-life balance

A permanent 35-hour working week, with paid call-out and overtime opportunities.

Stability

Join us in a permanent role working across Plus Dane homes and properties in Merseyside.

Keep developing

We’ll support you to continue learning and developing, with opportunities to progress and access ongoing training, including formal qualifications.

Work that matters

Use your skills to help provide safe, well-maintained homes for customers across Merseyside.

Your benefits

Alongside your salary, you’ll receive:

  • 35 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 10% employer pension contribution
  • Three-day Christmas closedown
  • Paid call-out arrangements
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Company vehicle for business use
  • Wellbeing support
  • Ongoing training and development

What the role is really like

You’ll work across different Plus Dane homes and properties, carrying out repairs, maintenance, planned works, testing and inspections.

You’ll manage your workload, diagnose and solve problems on site and work with colleagues, schedulers and managers to provide a responsive service.

There’s an administrative side to the job too. You’ll complete testing, inspections and certification and use PDA job tickets and timesheets to accurately record your work.

You’ll also support emergency works and participate in the paid call-out rota, with additional overtime where needed to support service delivery.

It’s not just about being a technically good Electrician. You’ll be working in customers’ homes, so how you communicate, take ownership and approach problems matters too.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll:

  • carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and planned works;
  • complete testing, inspections and certification accurately and on time;
  • use PDA job tickets and timesheets to record your work;
  • maintain your van stock, tools and equipment;
  • work professionally with customers and colleagues;
  • support emergency works and take part in the paid call-out rota; and
  • work additional overtime where required to support service delivery.

Could this role be for you?

You might already work in housing maintenance, or your electrical experience may have come from somewhere different.

If you enjoy practical problem-solving, working independently and taking pride in safe, high-quality work, this could be a great fit, with the stability, benefits and development opportunities that come with a permanent role.

What you really need

You’ll need:

  • a recognised apprenticeship at NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent;
  • 18th Edition qualification;
  • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent;
  • experience of responsive maintenance and periodic inspections;
  • experience of domestic electrical installations;
  • a strong customer focus and commitment to safe, high-quality work;
  • good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues; and
  • a valid driving licence, as you’ll travel between properties using a company vehicle.

If you’re offered the role, you’ll need to provide evidence of your qualifications before your appointment is confirmed.

Before you apply

This role combines practical electrical work with independent working, customer contact, accurate record-keeping and participation in the call-out rota.

If that sounds like the kind of working environment you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.

Ready to make your next move?

If you’re looking for a permanent Electrician role where you can use your skills, continue developing and make a difference to people’s homes, we’d love to hear from you.
