Job Overview

Tamworth Auto Electrics Ltd is looking for a hands-on, motivated Auto Electrician to join our team in Tamworth.

The successful candidate will be working on a wide range of vehicles and automotive electrical systems. The role will involve vehicle diagnostics, electrical fault finding, and the installation of vehicle security and tracking equipment, including alarms and trackers.

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work. Previous experience in auto electrics or vehicle diagnostics would be beneficial, alongside a willingness to learn, a good work ethic and a hands-on approach.

Key responsibilities

  • Carrying out vehicle electrical diagnostics and fault finding
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across a range of vehicles
  • Installing vehicle alarms, trackers and other security equipment
  • Fitting and configuring aftermarket electrical accessories
  • Working with vehicle wiring, electrical systems and components
  • Carrying out installations and repairs to a high standard
  • Using diagnostic equipment and specialist tools
  • Following wiring diagrams and technical instructions
  • Testing electrical systems and ensuring installations are working correctly
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Carrying out other duties associated with the role as required

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in auto electrics, vehicle diagnostics or a related automotive role is desirable
  • Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Practical and hands-on approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Willingness to learn new systems and technologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Professional approach to customers and colleagues

Relevant qualifications in automotive electrical systems, vehicle maintenance or motor vehicle technology would be advantageous but are not essential where suitable practical experience can be demonstrated.
