At Platform Property Care, we're looking for a Lead Engineer – Electrical to join our team covering Market Harborough, Northampton and the surrounding area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Approved Electrician looking to combine technical expertise with a wider leadership role, helping to shape standards and support the development of our trade workforce.

You'll play an important role in maintaining compliance, improving quality and enhancing customer outcomes.
What could you be doing?
You'll help ensure our customers receive a reliable, high-quality electrical service while providing technical guidance and support across our Property Care teams.
As a Lead Engineer - Electrical, you will:
- Carry out a wide range of electrical repairs, testing, inspection and maintenance work within customers' homes and communal areas.
- Manage jobs from inspection through to completion, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
- Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and skills development.
- Assess and sign off colleagues against our multi-skill framework and support apprentices through their End Point Assessments (EPA).
- Promote consistent trade standards and best practice across Platform Property Care.
- Work alongside Learning & Development teams to support trade training and upskilling initiatives.
- Conduct trade audits, reviews and quality assessments to ensure compliance and high standards.
- Act as a technical expert and escalation point for trade-related queries.
- Monitor industry developments, legislation and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement and enhance service delivery.
No two days are the same. This varied role offers the opportunity to influence technical standards, support colleague development and make a lasting impact on the services we provide to our customers.

- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload.
- Passionate about developing others and sharing your knowledge.
- Organised and focused on delivering right-first-time outcomes.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and apprentices.
- Committed to maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Some things we need from you:
- Completed an Electrical apprenticeship or hold an NVQ Level 3 and City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Commissioning and Certification.
- City & Guilds 2391, or equivalent qualification in Inspection and Testing.
- AM2
- 18th Edition regulation
- Additional trade qualifications.
- Unvented Hot Water qualification would be an advantage.
- JIB Approved Electrician card (desirable).
- Sound experience in delivering a range of electrical works and services in a domestic setting
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Experience of recording accurate job and repair information using mobile devices.
- Good IT and digital skills
- The ability to coach, support and develop colleagues.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience working within social housing, a local authority or housing association.
- Previous coaching, mentoring or assessor experience.
- A full valid driving licence is essential as this is a mobile role.
- As you will be working within customers' homes this role requires a DBS check.
- This role is for a team covering Market Harborough, Northampton, Kettering, Corby and the surrounding areas. Ideally you will only have a maximum of an hour's commute to this area.
Working for Platform Property Care, you will benefit from
- Competitive salary of £45,100 plus opportunities for overtime and out-of-hours payments.
- 25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days.
- Pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 12% (inclusive of life assurance).
- Company van and fuel card for business use.
- Mobile phone, tablet, and lone worker device.
- Access to healthcare and wellbeing benefits through Medicash.
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- The chance to play a key role in shaping trade excellence across our Property Care teams.
