Job Summary

The Eden surgeries are a 2 site GP practice in Hatfield Heath and Hatfield Broad Oak. We are a busy rural dispensing practice that looks after 9,500 patients.

  • Accurately perform Read coding of patient records in line with clinical standards and practice protocols
  • Review and process clinical correspondence, ensuring appropriate coding and filing
  • Maintain high-quality, accurate patient records
  • Support data quality initiatives and audits
  • Document Management (Scanning & Workflow)
  • Scan and attach documents to patient records accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process incoming post (electronic and paper), distributing to the appropriate clinicians or teams
  • Manage and action workflow tasks, escalating where necessary
  • Ensure all records are maintained in line with practice procedures
  • Manage internal tasks, emails, and system alerts (including online consultation systems such as Accurx)
  • Support the wider team with administrative duties as required
  • Handle sensitive or challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Support colleagues during busy periods to maintain service standards
  • Summarising new patient records and organising Lloyd George records

Experience

  • Proven experience in clinical coding or health information management is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex medical data accurately.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise with healthcare professionals and team members effectively.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards handling sensitive information.
  • The successful candidate must be flexible with working hours and able to cover team members during annual leave and sickness absence
