The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation and Quality, builds our leading-edge technology. GOPS partners with KLA's global supply base and design engineering teams to develop new products, working continuously to build better, faster and more cost-efficient solutions.

What You'll Do

At KLA SensArray, we manufacture highly specialised semiconductor metrology & inspection equipment used by leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide. Based at our state-of-the-art facility in Newport, South Wales, this role offers the opportunity to work in a clean, precision manufacturing environment where attention to detail and craftsmanship are critical to product quality.

We're looking for an Electronics Assembler to join our Etch Temp production team, where you'll play an important role in assembling highly specialised temperature-sensing products used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Electronics Assembly

• Soldering miniature electronic components under a microscope.
• Using tweezers and precision tools to place and position very small parts.
• Applying conformal coating to protect sensitive electronic assemblies.
• Carrying out detailed self-inspection and quality checks.
• Following manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Maintaining accurate production records.
• Working as part of a supportive team to deliver high-quality products to customers.

Inspection & Quality

• Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and magnification equipment.
• Identify workmanship defects and escalate quality concerns where required.
• Complete documentation accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
• Support incoming, in-process and final inspections as required.

General Manufacturing Duties

• Follow standard operating procedures and manufacturing processes.
• Work safely with approved cleaning agents, adhesives and process chemicals.
• Support continuous improvement activities to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable performing repetitive precision tasks under a microscope.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Strong quality mindset and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable

• Previous experience in precision manufacturing, electronics assembly, medical device manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience working under magnification or microscopes.
• Experience with adhesive application, coating, bonding, potting, encapsulation or similar assembly processes.
• Understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• NVQ, BTEC, apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
