Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Domiciliary Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team working 8hours across 2 or 3 days per week . The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients with care and precision, ensuring accurate lab results and patient comfort in Patient's own home. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and patient interaction, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture techniques, ensuring minimal discomfort and maximum safety.
  • Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Label samples accurately and prepare them for laboratory analysis in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain strict hygiene and infection control standards throughout all procedures.
  • Record patient information accurately using IT systems, ensuring data confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the phlebotomy area.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of patient care.

Requirements

  • Full Clean UK driving Licence
  • Proven communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, to ensure clear communication and documentation.
  • Basic IT skills for managing electronic health records and laboratory data entry.
  • Previous experience or training in phlebotomy is preferred but not essential; training opportunities will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills.
  • A recognised qualification in phlebotomy or relevant healthcare certification is desirable but not mandatory. This role is ideal for individuals committed to delivering exceptional patient care within a supportive healthcare environment, offering valuable experience in clinical procedures and patient interaction.
