Electronics Surface Mount Technician - Shift work

Overview

Based in Falmouth, Sellectronics delivers reliable, innovative, high-quality PCB solutions to a wide range of exciting companies. We manufacture components for Satellites, aeroplanes, submarines, crash test dummies, super yachts and sports cars, to name a few. We believe we are one of the most exciting companies in Cornwall right now.

Role Overview

You do not necessarily need lots of qualifications and experiece but you must have a logical mindset, ability to learn and follow processes closely. An interest in electronics is also important.

The SMT operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of our automated surface mount placement production lines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and care of large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and clearing finished product from the line.

Pay

Starting at £13.45 per hour plus shift premium

Responsibilities

  • Operate computer-controlled surface mount assembly machinery to successfully assemble surface mount technology printed circuit assemblies.
  • Ability to read machine error messages and correct placement & printing problems on a modern pick & placement line whilst adhering to product process times.
  • Be confident to hand place SMT parts accurately onto circuit assemblies, ensuring correct polarity of devices.
  • Be able to kit and de-kit SMT placement machines and set up printing programs on automatic stencil printers.
  • Maintain high-quality standards on all activities undertaken.
  • Document all work completed on the SMT process via shopfloor data capture system.
  • Will ensure that work carried out is in accordance with the appropriate works order

Instructions.

  • Ability to read and interpret bills of materials.
  • Maintain high standard of housekeeping within relevant work areas.

Experience required

  • Full training will be given if required for the right candidate
  • Proven time served experience in Surface Mount Assembly processes desirable but not essential
  • Experience of using Juki platform – desirable but not essential.
  • IPC qualifications – desirable but not essential

Pay: From £13.45 per hour
